UX/UI Designer

We are looking for a UX designer with 5+ years of experience to be an active contributor in our design process and the creation of interactive websites and apps. You will use your analytical and creative abilities throughout the design process, creating and developing UX flows, personas, user journey maps, and more, to wireframes and sitemaps.

Work on important projects for public sector clients such as Tourisme Québec, Princeton University and the Government of Canada who are in need of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Here’s what we will expect from you on a day to day basis:

  • Discover and understand our clients’ business goals through workshops and surveys;
  • Facilitate workshops with clients and users;
  • Conduct user research to understand user needs and create personas;
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback;
  • Translate discovery findings into information architecture and UX design strategies;
  • Produce personas, site maps, wireframes, prototypes, and other design deliverables;
  • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success through tests and feedback sessions;
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability);
  • Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs;
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers and clients;
  • Strengthen and advocate for Evolving Web’s UX approach
  • Stay informed of UX best practices and industry trends;
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, developers, and strategists;

Requirements

What kind of skills set do you need to be successful in your role within the Evolving community?

  • At least 5 years of agency experience;
  • A strong portfolio with examples of client work in the digital space;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and an expert eye for visual hierarchy;
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A passion for design and conceptual thinking;
  • Intimate knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or other comparable tools;

  • Organized and able to work on several projects concurrently;
  • Creative and curious, you're not afraid of learning new tools or responsibilities;

Bonus for:

  • Ability to communicate in French;
  • Experience with user interviews, usability tests, tree tests and other UX research methods;
  • Skill set that encompasses UI design;
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS;
  • Experience writing and developing content strategies;
